Kikkoman Less Salt Soy Sauce was Born in 1965!
In the late 1950s, Kikkoman received a request from the University of Tokyo's School of Medicine to develop a low sodium soy sauce. Kikkoman developed and released a Less Salt Soy Sauce that maintained the umami richness and complex aroma of our regular soy sauce.
Kikkoman Soy Sauce Certified as Japanese Space Food
"In September 2017, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) certified Kikkoman Soy Sauce Shiboritate “Nama” Soy Sauce Less Sodium, a product which is sold in Japan, as official Japanese Space Food. It is the first seasoning manufactured using traditional Japanese brewing techniques to be certified.
